Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and composer. Avery Sunshine combines soul gospel with R&B to make a distinctive mix. She's appeared on Broadway, at the Democratic National Convention and in concerts and festivals across Europe. Sunshine refers to Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta Her roots lie from Chester Pennsylvania. There she initially began her journey as musician through playing guitar and singing at church. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her education within the city's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals,"Stalk You A House 12, was released only in Japan. The song has had numerous remixes and it is a mainstay of her live show. The voice of hers was featured on the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she was hired as the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage musical Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, was approached to become the leader of the choral group for this stage show. Sunshine earned national fame during her four daily performances during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform during the President's 2008 inaugural.
